Alvarez AD60SC
finally was able to try alvarez today bc not too many of the shops here carry them. Anyways, i found an alvarez AD60SC for $405. However, I think I'm going to make Guitar Center order it for me and pick it up there because its cheaper. Any comments/concerns about the guitar? This will be my first acoustic if I get it. I have been playing for two years also, so I think this is appropriate for me.

Or am I better getting like the RD20 (no electronics or cutaway I believe)
EDIT: Czech, isnt the AD60 what you have? What did you pay for it?

I own both guitars you are talking abpout. very different sounds. I love that AD60SC to death. it sounds amazing and gets better with age.
It will come wih light elixers on it. I suggest upgrading to light/medium nanowebs. much fuller sound.
the RD20 I believe is a sitka spruce top which to be is a VERY different sound. very.
for the small amount more you pay for the AD60, you get WAY MORE GUITAR. the headstock is amazzing, everythign is just 100x better. sound, playability, action, tone, fretboard, binding, hardwARE (my rd20 doesnt stay in tune for shit), i just cant say enough ggreat things about the AD60SC.
I paid $350ish before shipping. I think $329 + shipping. I didnt play it before I bought it, just played a fusion series, loved it, and this was the best I could afford. You can find killer deals on this guitar in the previous mofdel on ebay. I would suggest getting the older (but still new) ad60sc from ebay. it will have a different (but better looking bridge), and you can get them sometimes for $260 - $340 depending on luck.

I have an AD60CK (darker, different kind of wood called doa) and it is awesome. The action was a little high when i got it but after i got that fixed... man, all I can say is these guitars sound wonderful and I've had it for about a year now. I don't think they make my guitar in a dreadnaught body anymore i think they just make it in folk now, or they just make the SC's now which seems identical to mine except different wood.

RD20's are great beater guitars. I bought for $100 off a friend who got it for a present and never played it. I like mine, nothing great or fancy. Its great guitar to take on road trips and camping etc...
