Theres a lot of pedal boards out there that are full of effects (everything from distortion, compression, chorus, delay, etc...). Damn near every pedal company makes em. All the recent releases have a feature where you can combine and create effects as you wish, pretty much leaving it up to you to get the sound u want. These pedals are usually around $300, im pretty sure BOSS and digitech have their own (and theres plenty others out there). I gotta admit theyre pretty good deals ($300 for like 30 different pedals instead of only 3), but im more of an analog kinda guy i guess... hope that helps in some way...
