Child's Guitar for Raised B

Unread post by grock » Mon May 12, 2003 12:56 am

OK so i used to own a small child's guitar that was just unreasonably small. like almost 1/2 sized maybe. this was a few years ago. i bought it at a goodwill store as a joke before i was serious about playing guitar. i broke it and ended up just throwing it out. so now i am looking to buy one again. it was such a spectacle for people and it was usually tuned up a fifth to A, since it had such a shorter scale length. but i recently got the idea to tune up for like Raised B on a miniguitar. anybody know where to go for something like this. other than guitar center. they didn't really have what i was looking for (they don't have the shorter tuned up and all and most come as starter packages, with picks and case and strings and junk, for kids) i am gonna try KB toys or like Toys R Us. any thoughts or suggestions or help on finding this or anything you can add. what about the whole concept of having a mini-guitar for rasied B. i can just see it as hilarious as i bring that out on stage.

not that it's too important but tuning up to A would be tuning up a fourth, not a fifth as i said before. My bad. i'm gonna just call GC tonight or go down there and ask if they can order something maybe or if they have the shit guitars in the back where they use them like swords on their breaks. i haven't had much luck just asking around and stuff. do you all think this idea is just crazy?

I actually collect old school crap guitars (and other cool music stuff) that I hang on this wall thats in me and my buddies rented house. I think im up to 3 now, including one of my buddies that also hangs on the wall in our place. Theyre definitely old school...probably wouldnt be worth more than about 10 or 15 bucks at a flea market. Usually I tell my grandma to watch for them for me (huge antique fan she is) and she'll pick them up if she sees them cheap. And get this.........one time she passed on one that was $35 because she thought it was too high. When I saw her, she told me the name inside the soundhole was martin and asked me if I had ever heard of it. I could have killed the woman.....it could have been worth thousands....
