Good deal for American Strat?

Unread post by Wife Soup » Sun Feb 05, 2006 11:49 am

Hey guys, today I was at Guitar Center and they had a used American Fender Strat, custom color and pickguard, with Texas Specials (SRV pups) for $749.99. It's a 2001. Plus, the guy said maybe we could work out a deal with a case or cable. Is this a good deal. I'd be playing it through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and I like to play the blues but some grunge and some classic rock too. At the moment, I'm playing a Squier, which is just ok. Should I go for it?

Also, can I bargain or something, even though it's Guitar Center

You can always bargain. Tell him you want the case and offer him something pretty ridiculously low. Then haggle.
$750 seems like a solid deal to me as it is now, but where's the fun in just taking it?

I'm no expert, but if you can get it down to $675 with the case, I think you're definitely sticking it to the man.

That's a pretty good deal if you ask me. Haggle, but don't make him angry.
