Better with age?

Unread post by castellar » Mon Nov 14, 2005 11:31 pm

I have heard many people say their guitar sounds warmer and fuller as the wood ages. Is this true for all guitars? or does it have to be solid wood, solid top, or will this hold true for the laminates?

I imagine the more wood it actually is the more true that statement that guitars get better with age would be.

it is certainly NOT true for laminates - they will sound worse in say 10 years while wood guitars will get better in 10 years

martins for sure sound better with age, and i know that american jazz basses sound better with age too, otherwise jaco wouldn't of treated his bass like crap.

the basic summary, as above, is that everything but laminates get better with age
