Sustain/Swells/Echoey spaciness, (i.e. trey, tim)

Unread post by gumbomadness » Mon Oct 31, 2005 9:48 am

Alright,
You Phish fans know what im talking about when trey his one note... and the band sinks into a jam, and it just feedbacks beautifully and goes on forevor?

I can't tell if its being swelled with his volume pedal, (even though i know that sound is also because of the design of his guitar).

Anyway, i read that the Boss DD6 can be used to have that feedback sound when the settings are put a certain way..

I guess what im saying, is which is more effective for increasing your sustain and swelling?

The obvious answer seems to be the volume pedal, but if the DD6 can do THAT and more, (all the delay shebangahbang) then it seems thats the direction i will go.

All feedback (excuse the pun) is welcome!

--oh, and if this post seems unclear and pondersome just ask me to clarify a part and i'll try.

i dont really know the answer, but I hear that the boss dd6's are out of this world. Look at the people that use them, they are almost a must have if you are serious about playing electric live. good luck

Using my bridge humbucker and my MXR dyna comp i can get feedback, but I've never really played around with it to get that trey sound.
