Seagull Guitars

Unread post by jjcucio » Mon Oct 17, 2005 11:39 am

Im curious how Seagull guitars are in general. I played one at the store and think it was pretty nice. I have a washburn acoustic that was pretty cheap and thinking of upgrading. Suggestions or ideas on the seagull or any others, id appreciate it.

good guitars. I played Swede's and it was pretty nice, good sound.
My sister in law has one and it's pretty nice.

However, i dont see one as being a big upgrade from a washburn. different sound, but same price/quality level.

i'd look into an alvarez or takamine g series.

what price range are you looking at?

Im not even sure right now. I have not been playing for too long, but do want something that is going to help me with sound, play-ability, and quality over all. Price range has not crossed my mind, im guessing $700.00 or so. Ill look into your suggestions, thanks in advance.

no worries.

but remember, go out there and play as many different guitars as you can,

and one of the best pieces of advice i've ever heard given on this board:

Bring a friend who can play guitar to the guitar shop when you have narrowed it down to a few guitars. turn your back and have them, pick up and play the guitars in a random order. tell him which one you like d the sound of most, have him hand you your new guitar.

a seagull s6 was my first guitar and i still love it. it sounds much nicer than i would expect from a $350 guitar and have heard that from many other people as well. definitely a worthwhile purchase in the lower price ranges
