i think if you get one its more just to have it. My understaning is that for $300 it is a nice guitar. But honestly, you arent gonna really be playing it around much off a stage, and for beign a stage guitar, it isnt all that great. So if you ask me, its more of a cool thing to have, cause shit, you cant help but think of Dave in the beginning weilding that bad boy.

the only reason im considering it is, the guy in my band who plays lead generally plays and electric and i figured a chet could help me cut through the sound a little on the songs i play acoustic on.checkii wrote:i think if you get one its more just to have it. I ordered one of these and just got it today. This one is being returned... It looks cool and actually plays really nice. Problem is it sounds absolutely awful plugged in. The D string is barely even audible and all of the strings seem to come in a different volume levels. I'm going to stick with my Fender DG20CE (which still amazes me with how good it sounds) until I decide which Taylor to get. I made the mistake of buying this Epiphone because it was only $300 and seemed like a nice toy, but after listening to it through my amp, I've decided it's pretty much useless.

You do know that to get it to sound like dave's you need to put in much better pickups and such.EazyE wrote:I ordered one of these and just got it today. This one is being returned... Yeah, I read about the need for new pickups to get Dave's sound, but forget about Dave's sound - the stock setup is so bad (at least on mine) that no matter what sound you're looking for, it comes up short.
Anyway - how easy/expensive is it to put a new pickup on this bad boy? Any idea which pickup would work?
