Ive played a 400 seires Taylor (cant remember which one) and it sounded real good. I still think the best Taylor I ever played in my price range was the 2002 Taylor 310ceLte. It sounded so good, I cant wait till I get enough loot to by one, that just my opinion though. Everyone will tell you to go to a guitar store and play a bunch of different ones and get the one that sounds best to you though, which I totally agree with. Youre the one buying it, you want a guitar that sounds good to you, thats also the method that found me my dream guitar.

Well if thats the only guitar in that price range youve played Id tell you to go out and play a bunch more, but if youve compared that to a lot of other guitars then Id say you found yours. Congrats, hope you got the $1300 or so to pay for it.

Wait a minute shane, I thought you were all gung-ho on Taylor. When/how did the lakewood advocate come out in you?

he got hired last week.

Strongbad will help me out here:
Taylor(Quality) <= Lakewood(Quality)
Taylor(Price) > Lakewood(Price)
Make sense? good.

Dude, how do you know if you havent even played a lakewood? What if you pick it up and it sounds good, but its hard as hell for you to play? I'm not saying theyre bad, but you make it sound like you've got years of experience with guitars here, when all you've done is talk to tico and talk to the people at samusic, who want to sell guitars.

ALSO:
look at harmony central people. take a look at the reviews for the M-32. all catagories are 9 or above. couple 10s if im not mistaken. the M-46 has all 10s, given it was only reviewed by one person. so lets see.. dave likes them, people at samusic like them, ticohans likes them, the people who reviewed them like them... never heard anyone saying they didnt like them... coincidence? probably not :D

Ive never played one before but they look kinda ugly in my opinion. Anyone else think so too? I know thats really not a deciding factor when buying guitars but I just think they look cheap/ugly. I couldnt buy a guitar that I didnt think looked really good, like the Martin D-15, I know someone in another post said they have it and love it, Im sure it sounds good but yuck, so ugly.

Yeah, that looks a lot better than the picture I saw somewhere else, it looked like dark red/brown. I still probably wouldnt get one but that picture makes it look a lot better than I thought it was.

Right, I meant just the people at samusic are in the business of selling guitars. But thats not the point. Before you go giving out advice, put some credibility behind it, thats all. Dont just go along with whatever someone else says is good. Play everything you can get your hands on, thats the only way to really know. I guess it just seems youre totally pushing the issue with no real knowledge or experience.

Oh, and harmony central reviews dont mean anything. Sorry, but almost everyone on there gives their guitar a 9 or 10. $500 fenders get the same numbers as 714ces there.
