so every larrivee i have played i really like the feel, but not the overall sound, but i think the main reason i havent liked them is that i HATE elixer strings, and they have all had them. I guess this is mainly going to Kahn, but does changing to normal strings make a major difference, i am assuming it does as it does with all other guitars.
I just got an HD-28V but ive got to return it, i cant afford this shit, and i was stupid for thinking i can. I want a high quality guitar, as i feel i am a quality player, but i cant justify spending north of $2000. this was over $2200.
I want a BIG sound. Im 99% sure i want a Dread. I want nice trebles. I dont want the bass to overwelm the treble, nor be weak or pussy-esque. I want the perfect guitar for under $1800. I also want a guitar that will stick with me for many years.
Tell me opinions people. And for the record, i know my shit about Taylors and Martins, so no need to go on about them. I want to know about 'other' brands.

Sorry to here your going to return your HD-28V. From what i heard in the music store, you are definately a great guitarist. i personally think you should keep it, no matter what it costs. thats unless you are not completely happy with it but i think someone that can play like you deserves a HD-28V. i just got a 614ce, i worked hard as hell to save up for it. ive only been playing for about a year when i bought it but to me its worth the price becuase i love it and play it everyday for hours and i know it will last forever. this is just my opinion, i hope you find one.

well the thing is im not 100% in love with it. I think i want something a little more balanced. Im not sure what im going to do. regardless i am sending this specific one back. I dont like the top on it, there are bear claw markigns in odd spots, which i dont like at all. With premium woods, this model should not have this. so i was going to exchange, but i think im just going to return
it just doesnt feel right now that ive gotten to REALLy play it.
