I was at a local concert and the electric guitar player had this little black thing a little bigger than a slide and rectangular and he would hold it up to the stings and they would rattle. I think it was emiting some sort of pulse or something to make the strings shake. What was that thing? Where can i get one? I thought it was cool, never seen anything like it before.

ok. i found one on fusicians friend. Thanks a buntch. These things look sweet... A little more expensive than i was thinking though...

yes. he has bass e-bow, im pretty sure they make them seperate because the ebow the guy at church had only worked on the g-string of my friends bass, and he uses small strings too.

im not sure how exactly it works, maybe someone here has more information, you can also check it out. (google e-bow for the site.) I think it has a magnet in it where if you place it correctly over the strings, it will vibrate that string

the guy from coldplay uses one i think - my friend had one and said at first its hard to use, but cool once you get the hang of it
