I dont know why i want one, i just saw how cheap it is, and i knwo you get what you pay for and that rogue can be a hit or miss brand. you can get lucky and get a good sounding cheap instrument, or you can get a POS. But if the finish is really nice like the reviews said, then atleast its a $45 piece of wall art...

I did buy it. It's not that bad. The factory strings just suck. I slapped some elixirs on it and it purred nicely.

On a side note, I have also purchased the Rogue 6-string bass. Seen here. Lovin it. Well-made bass. Sounds like a dream.

Cool man, I've been thinking of a mandolin. Stick around, you've been a member forever so you know it's a good place.

And commendable use of the search too. :D

The action on it is ridiculously (read: cheap) high. No adjustable truss rod.

On one hand, it's cheap, why not.

On the other, you could spend another $50-100 and get one w/ an adjustable truss rod.

I guess it all depends on how much you really want to play a mandolin.

I have this mando.. I bought a pack from musiciansfriend about a year ago that came with that and a Rogue guitar. The whole package deal was only about 100$, great deal. This mando plays ok, I thought it was really good until I actually picked up a nice Gibson. But its perfect to start on..
