A Sweet Suprise

Unread post by T1nM4n » Tue Jul 05, 2005 1:40 am

ok so...i was looking around in my basement looking for sumthing and a stumbled accross a guitar case, thinking to my self "i dont have any other guitars". so i open it up to find this guitar

http://www.thecanteen.com/nme66.jpg
well not that exact one but u get the point

its a original 1965 Epiphone Casino, model #E230TD

apparantly it was my step dads way back in the day when he was in a band, and luckily enuff he said i could have it, he hasnt palyed guitar for years. since it hasnt been palyed much the only physical damage is a few nicks in the headstock thats all, its jsut really old. so basicaly ive got two questions:

1. What could this guitar be worth
2. what can i do do improve this guitar's preformance since it is so old. obviously first thing i must do is change the strings, even though they are terribly old they dont sound all that bad right now, im hoping thats a sign that it will be even better with new strings. but any other suggestions

thanks
-Ross

You just found a treasure. If it is in good enough shape they are going for a couple grand on EBAY. Hang on to it though. It is a very versatile guitar and they dont make them in the states any more. Paul McCartney said if he could only have one guitar that it would be his casino.

Keep that sucker and take it to a good guitar tech to have him check it out and set it up and all of that. That's an amazing find.
