i knew dave didn't use extra lights...he is a very hard strummer and would break them left and right:

Jonathan's Question: I am really excited about the new page. Your techincal gear list is great. I am planning to get into to professional sound and this feature will be used a lot. I have an easy question to start with. To Monk: What is the model and gauge of the D'Addario strings Dave uses? And, if i can ask a second question: What are the gauges of Stefan's strings? Thanks for your time in answering these questions

DMB Road Crew Answer: Thanks for the kind words. Dave plays primarily on D'Addario strings. Model EXP17. Gauges 56, .45, .35, .26, .17, .13

ya they are the coated ones. the difference in sound between them and elixers are the elixers have a much brighter tone to them and a bigger attack. plus they are a hell of a lot more expensive  :D
Cuz you might die trying
I was feelin' like a creep as I watch you asleep face down in the grass in the middle of a hot afternoon, your top was untied and I thought : how nice, i can watch the sweat follow down your spine

And they also feel like you're playing guitar with a fat woman squirting on the fretboard.
