check your neck to see it its crooked or warpedseth_southerland wrote:it started doing that with my previous set of strings that were on my guitar yesterday, so i went and bought some and put them on, and it was still buzzing after that
this sucks
is it an electric with an adjustable bridge? then you'll want to check that too

i think its crooked, yeah
i'm not sure but because all three of the guitars that i have had have given me problems because of a twist in the neck, i'm beginning to think that where i'm keeping them in the house (in a hard case in my closet) might somehow be the cause of the twisting
its an acoustic by the way
what are the ways you are supposed to keep your guitar in the different times of the year when the temperatures are different?

so i diagnosed my guitar as having a back-bow
well
yesterday i got out the old hex key and a pair of needle-nose pliars(i need the pliars to turn the key cuz i had to use the long part of the key to put into the truss rod) and i loosed up said truss rod quite a bit and took out 98% of the buzzing, still just a teeny bit of buzz from the steel strings on a couple of the frets, but thats bearable until i can get it into a shop and maybe raise the action a little
one thing i noticed about the bridge is that the end of it with the steel strings is lower than the end with the bronze strings on it, and i can understand why but maybe the solution will be as simple as raising up the steel string end by a few millimeters

its supposed to be lower because the strings have a smaller diameter
i would suggest taking it to a shop if you dont really know what you're diong, you can really mess up your guitar if you overadjust the truss rod
lots of people have written how-tos for the truss rod on here
