Fishman Gold PlusNatural II VS...
I was wondering which pickup is the better choice for my martin, Fishman Gold PlusNatural II or Fishman Acoustic Matrix Natural II.. overall which is better?
I see that dave uses a Fishman Gold PlusNatural II in his martin guitars (at least by what it says on the site) but why doesnt he use the Fishman Acoustic Matrix Natural II?

If you're going to buy any pickup for your guitar. Talk to this guy first - http://www.MaurysMusic.com
Hope that helpsThe Martin Guitar Co. has been a great friend and business Partner with Fishman for many years. They market and sell many Fishman products under the Martin Brand name. In the case of the Acoustic Matrix, the name Gold Plus is used. The Martin Gold Plus is the Acoustic Matrix Natural 1, narrow format 3/32”, and the Martin Gold Plus Max is the Acoustic Matrix Natural 2, narrow format 3/32”. No tricks, no gimmicks, just the same quality components with different names. The Fishman version also offers the option of a wide format, 1/8” pickup for wider saddle slots.

Re: Fishman Gold PlusNatural II VS...
Dave uses the Acoustic Matrix Natural II for the Taylors. He uses the Gold Plus Natural (also known as Fishman Acoustic Matrix Natural I) for his Martins. When I talked to Joe Barbeiri, Fishman's main tech support, he explained why Dave uses Acoustic Matrix II pickups for the stage due to preamp being able to control the louder volumes on the stage, but also resist alot of the feedback.bbatsell wrote:Which site? For Dave & Tim shows, Dave doenst have to play at extreme higher volumes like he does with the band, he doenst have to cut through the bands sound. So he uses the Martin Gold Plus Natural (also known as Fishman Acoustic Matrix Natural I). I'm guessing he uses the Martin version, only because Martin pre-installs these pickups in all of Dave's Martins (DM3MD, HD-28v, etc.); convience if anything. Also, Martin and Fishman have been long-time business partners, so Fishman markets products under the Martin name. The pickups themselves, the Fishman Natural I or the Martin Gold Plus Natural are the same thing. There is no tonal difference between the two.little ants734 wrote:Why does dave use Gold Plus Natural II in his Martins?
For Dave and Tim shows, Dave i believe used Gold Plus Natural II because he used Martins.. right, but why?
Natural I
Choose the Natural I if you want more bass response than the guitar naturally produces. Typically, the Natural I is a good match for players with non-scallop braced instruments (especially smaller sizes), who perform solo or in small all-acoustic ensembles at relatively low volumes. If your instrument is at all prone to feedback, you may want to check out the Natural II.

I give up. I explained all the differenceslittle ants734 wrote:Fishman Gold PlusNatural II Pickup
Dave uses this in all his Martin guitars.
Says that Dave uses a Fishman Gold PlusNatural II in his Martin guitars, not a Natural I.. what is the difference and why? Sorry about all the questions, I am really curious.
