Okay, so I want a new guitar...

Unread post by whatshername » Sun Jun 05, 2005 10:59 am

I think it's time for a new one. I've been playing for 6 years and I need a new tool. I have a Martin DX-1 right now and I like it, it's not a bad guitar. It was perfect for me in my first couple years of playing. It's time for an upgrade though. I've always been a Martin person but I'm pretty much open to any nice guitar right now. I think my limit as far as money goes is around $1000. So what do you guys recommend I look at?

Blueridge makes amazing guitars at affordable prices. BR-160 sunburst is awesome.

Well, I just got one and I couldn't be happier so I'm gonna throw it out there. Larrivees are hands down the best guitar I've ever played and you can get a sweet one for around a grand.

Yea I played a Larri D-50 that was flippin' sweet that is around 1000 bucks.

As for Martins, you can get a used D-28 for around 1200 or so. A used D-18 would be around 1000. If you want something new and cheaper I'd go with musicians friend's limited D-15 spruce/rosewood. (or mahogany if ur a mahogany man)

But, for around 1000 bucks(maybe a little more), you can get some used standard series stuff.

guild's are real nice for that price range
hosting the oscars is like winning the heisman trophy. no matter how you do in the ballgame, or whatever, they can't take it away from you. and even if you kill your wife and an ex-waiter, they still have a hard time taking it away from you

I was gonna recommend the 03's but I say it so much, and I figured you'd say it sooner or later.
