Taylor Koa or D-28 Marquis
Well, i just got back from the guitar store and played a Martin D-28 Marquis. omg that thing was amazing, i wanted to walk out with it so badly. Well anyway got to talking with the store owner and told him i had a Taylor K-20ce. he said if i wanted to he would trade me for the martin. im so tempted but i dont know. i have a 714-ce also so i will still have that taylor sound, but that Marquis was so amazing. I will probably not do it because, well, its a koa, i just cant see myself doing it, its like traiding a child, but then again i paid 1600 for the Koa and that Marquis is about 3600 so it would be a good "deal" but that is not going to effect my judgment at all... Anyway just seeing what u thought, i've never traided a guitar before so this is a hard decision. The Marquis is a far better sounding guitar then the Koa but the Koa has a sound of its own. Anyway, i need help. what would jesus do?

Martin.
Martin.
Martin.
I prefer bassier acoustic guitar tone. Martin has the punch for me.
Taylor's are brighter, but they're just not my bag.
Always play and purchase what SOUNDS and FEELS the best to you. Not what your buddy likes, or what Joe I'm in A Band on T.V. plays.
Peace,
C

Ya I agree fuck the world and what it thinks. When the world fronts me $3600 for a new guitar i might start listening, until then im going with what i think sounds good
... But ya i went the other day and decided that i was going to trade in the Koa for the Marquis. I bought the Koa for it's unique sound (i also have a Taylor 714ce so i wanted something that sounded different and the Koa fit the bill...) but that Marquis is what i have been looking for my whole life. Anyway, went to the shop with the intention of trading, the owner that i talked to was not there it was another guy. He looked in the blue book for the price on the Koa and said that i would be about $1300 short after the trade. I had talked to the owner (nice guy) and he said he would do a strait out traid with me. Well, the owner was on vacation and we could not get a hold of him and they guy said he could not do the traid... When the owner got back i called him and he appologised because he would of done the trade with me but someone bought the damn thing the day i left the store... He said the marquis are hard to get and he would probably not get another one for a year... So in other words i should of (as one of you put it) "taken the deal and run"... oh well. fuck...
