What's wrong with this situation...

Unread post by Kukini » Wed May 25, 2005 11:50 am

So my best bud leaves on his mission to Ukraine for 2 years and he entrusts his guitar to me. A $100 Yamaha F-315A. And I have my $400 Fender DG20CE. But which one has a better tone and doesn't buzz like a mother fucker on just about every fret? The cheap ass Yamaha. And I keep mine in a case, humidified, he just layed it under his bed everynight. I know Fender acoustics aren't the highest quality and I probably got ripped at that price but I just wanted to come and complain to someone about it. Any thoughts?

Yamahas for a 100 bucks sound really good. I have a friend with one and his beats the shit out of my $1100 guitar.

70's Yamaha's are the best and play well.

I know Yamaha makes quality instruments, but I've not played a newer model.

There isn't always a direct correlation between price and quality, that's what makes buying a guitar difficult sometimes.

It was a graduation present last year. They bought me a strat, but I wanted an acoustic so I just bought a fender cuz my cousin said I "had to have an american guitar". I'm not too fond of it anymore. I like the look, but the sound is horrible. I went to an open mic and this kid had my same model and he embarassed himself with the buzzin, he even said something along the lines of "this isn't the best guitar, but I hope my playing makes up for it" or something. It was at BYU, it was actually awesome, but yea, it buzzed like a mofo, much like my guitar.

Are fender acoustics even made in the US?

I really doubt it. I checked music123.com and the most expensive fender acoustic i could find was a 720 odd dollar stratocoustic or whatever the hell they're called. I think thats made in china. Plus, i cant see them paying american wages for $700 and below guitars.

the only thing wrong with this situation is the fact that you were dumb enough to buy a fender acoustic...

and there is the fact that you are a dumbass anyway

Hm... I hadn't checked back at this thread for a while because I hardly ever post in this forum but wow... It's nice to know you're still a dick when I've done absolutely shit to you.
