Maton acoustics
i was just wondering if ne of you guys here have play a maton acoustic, there australian made and they are pretty damn good. i hear there in america now so you guys should check em out and see what you think of em. i have one and its pretty good but its not me, i play it heaps though so that when i get the guitar that is me, i dont have to worry about oh the necks killing me and all that other winy stuff.
so are there ne aussies who have em, or americans that do, let me know what ya think.
p.s ive been playing matthews tunes for a week but on my shitty electric cause i havent got a new pack of strings yet, i should reall get around to that.

THANK YOU.i played some maton guitars a couple times, but i dont like em...they have a too hard sound
I've been saying that to tons of store owners and they dont agree with me. Everytime i play mine it only sounds right if i play a hard rock tune then when i go into the mellow stuff it sounds shocking, but that just could be my guitar.
im pretty sure i played one of these at a pawn shop once... if i recall it was one of the nicer things in the shop, but thats not sayin much

His fingerpicking isn't what I'd describe as chill.Mjazk26 wrote:I think Tommy Emmanual plays Matons. They are made in Australia right? Anyways hes a finger picking god so I don't know why it wouldn't sound right for more chill material.

What I meant was if you can finger pick on a guitar its probably going to sound ok without playing the shit out of it as suggested of Maton guitars at the top of the post. Usually you use smaller body guitars fingerpicking to get a more balanced sound out of it. If you can get a good sound out of a guitar finger picking I would imagine you should be able to play lighter material quite well on it. I could be 100% incorrect but its just a theory.
