Buying Advice
I have been playing for about a year now, but i have excelled at guitar. I play as well is not better than some of my friends who have been going for 3 + years and I am out growing my guitar. What I play right now is an Epiphone AJ-18sce. My next step up is prolly gonna be around $500-700 I am thinking about a Martin DCK-1E, D-15 Limited edition, Taylor 110 or 210. Any other idea? i need a good acoustic pref. a cutaway and with a preamp

tacoma really is a good mid range guitar but if i were going to go mid range i would get an alvarez. such an awesome guitar and it's beautiful. sounds and looks like you paid 3000 for it.btbesong wrote:If you want a bang for your buck, get a Tacoma.
I was about to buy a Martin and one of the Guitar Center guys showed me the Tacoma and I fell in love with it. The tone is incredible and it plays substantially louder than other guitars.
At least try it out. It's super worth it.
ya, my freind didnt believe me wehen I told him i paid $350 for my AD60SC. He wouldnt stop playing it the other night.Appfro wrote:tacoma really is a good mid range guitar but if i were going to go mid range i would get an alvarez. such an awesome guitar and it's beautiful. sounds and looks like you paid 3000 for it.btbesong wrote:If you want a bang for your buck, get a Tacoma.

I'd love to hear a $650 alvarez, i cant imagine how much better it would sound.
But I also agree, go with that Larivee.

so anyways, i love larrivee too, but you cannot get an 03 for under 700 dollars.... now you're gonna say "DEE BE5T PRISESS IS KNOT ON EBAY! DERP!" that may be partly true, but i doubt they're nearly double....
back to the thread topic, id check out takamine for that pricerange and seagull and mk. play a bunch of stuff and pick what you like!

don't buy a low end martin, they're garbage. i would know, i went through two d-15's before i got my takamine. the same exact thing happened to both martins, after about two weeks the fret buzz became unbearable, nearly every note sounded like total shit. i'd buy a rogue ra-100d before i bought another low end martin and save $700.
If you'd like to overpay then go ahead and buy any of those larrivees off ebay. If anyone happens to be interested in getting a 03 series larrivee < $700
email the people at http://www.guitaradoptions.com and get a quote.
Praise, before you run over to the guitaradoptions website and tell me they don't have them for that price, realize that Larrivee (as with most guitar manufacturers) have whats called minimum advertised price (MAP). They can sell for less than map but can't advertise on their website or otherwise for less than MAP.

i am familiar with MAP. these prices seem very good in spite of that.hcole wrote:If you'd like to overpay then go ahead and buy any of those larrivees off ebay. If anyone happens to be interested in getting a 03 series larrivee < $700

they said the lowest model is exactly 700... as you can see above... thats better than i expected, but stilhcole wrote:All the models won't be. I know the ones with cutaways or electronics won't be less than that and the 03r's might not be, but the straight mahog 03's should be.praisedave wrote: if all of the models in the 03 line are under 700 ill be impressed, humbled, and buying a guitar from them this summer
