Possible Martin DM3MD Up for Sale

Unread post by jsoldo » Mon Apr 25, 2005 3:39 pm

So, I have a Martin DM3MD and am thinking of selling it. I am posting to see if anyone is interested and maybe get some possible offers. If I get the right price, I just might be willing to get this beautiful guitar go.

BTW, its #50 of 234 (the lowest number I've seen around) and is in mint condition. I also had a custom saddle made out of bone, to replace the cheap plastic Martin one. I still have the plastic one, if wanted. This thing sounds amazing.

Thanks
Jon

What do you consider the right price?

The last two one eBay (higher numbers, cheaper bridge) went for $4950 and $5300. Somewhere in that region would be the right price.

Thanks

will you consider anything other than money? most people sell because they need to pay off something (i think you said you were buyin a house) but if your just circulating your collection i could make an offer.

Unfortunatly, I am in grad school getting my MBA and trying to purchase a house within the next year. So my goal is to unload some guitars and get some cash. I hate to let it go, but thats life

Do you have any photos you could either post or email? Also, what part of the country is it located...I ask that to see if it is available for personal inspection.
What about the case...is it original and in what shape?

Im located in Long Island, NY. It comes with the custom black hardware case. The condition of that is pretty near mint also. Maybe one or two minor minor scuffs.

The guitar is at my local shop right now being professionally setup. I do this after every winter. Once I get it back I will defintly post tons of pics.

Where are you located? And are you seriously interested?

Thanks
Jon

If anyone here BESIDES ME(:)) deserves it...it's Danny. Give him first dibs on the guitar if you are def going to be selling it and he wants it. I say this only because of how he helped DMBTabs.com when it was needed BADLY.

Danny, as for the shape of the guitar...I'd probably be willing to go out to LI to check it out for you. Probably mostly because I would LOVE to get my hands on one of these to see how they sound. Obv my love for the guitar goes further than most people's(HENCE DMBTabs.com :)) so the chance to play and help you out would be a pleasure. I can't promise anything...but if you'd like me too, I'd probably be able to make it out there for both our enjoyment!

Good luck on the sale and it's a shame you have to sell such an amazing piece of wood. And I can vouch for the fact that Danny is serious about buying the guitar as we've talked many times about such a purchase.

1 quick question though...Danny, did you sell your kid or something? Isn't college in the midst or there now? How you rationalizing this to the wifey?!?!?

I would like to thank you for bringing this to DMBTabs.com before you put it up on eBay. Anyone could potentially buy the guitar on eBay but if it's sold through here...you know a big fan of DMB MUSIC(hence guitar) will be getting it and it would be taken care of accordingly. Later man...

Here's one on ebay with a Low price and a familiar description.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eName=WDVW

After some digging I found this one that didn't sell.

You have to be careful sometimes.

So you got any pictures jsoldo. I'll be happy to host them for you. :D

Ha, ebay took that first dm3md down. It was the same as the second one, but at half the price and $1.50 for shipping. The seller had good feedback, it was probably a stolen user i.d.
