I've always wanted to try a finder ;) . Just kidding. Check out Guilds, man, they are my favorite. Also, try some Tacomas as well, I love their cheifs.
Yes, I am in a box

see my old thread entitled "Low End Taylors...revisited"

It has some great suggestions mixed in with the comments on the 110 model from Taylor.

get the alvarez RF8 or RD8
everyone here will tell you 100 different guitars to buy that are all out of your price range.

i think for the range of 200-300 he could get something better then the RF8 or RD8, i picked mine up for $190, so he could do better.

then suggest what is better and in the price range.
Looking at his posts it is obvious he is new and doesnt need anything great. his money would be better spent on an RD8 and some lessons.

It does sound like you're new to the guitar, if so then focus on getting something that is comfortable to play and that you think sounds good. I recommend looking at a Washburn D-10S, it's what I used to learn on and I got mine used for 139$. The alvarez wouldn't be a bad idea either.

An alvarez would be a kick-ass guitar to start with.
