Changing Telecaster Pick-Ups (Got pics)

Unread post by gumbomadness » Sun Mar 06, 2005 4:24 am

Filmdude helped me out with one possible idea.. but i want to get all the input i can.

I want to change the pick-ups on my washburn imitation telecaster thats like ... 8 or 9 years old.
It was a mid range guitar back when, and the picups arent doing it for me, although it FEELS great. I played a thing at school for a show and it wasnt up to par.

I want to be Joe Pass-ish jazzy and also get that SRV bite..
so filmdude suggested a Humbucker in the neck and a certain type of single coil in the .. bridge.

Anyone else have any ideas? And.. where can you take a guitar to get this done? (Never done any pick-up swaps before)

i cant believe praisedave isnt back to humble me with knowledge like you did when telling me which pickups to use. (i lost them tho.. it was a seymore duncan jazz humbucker for the neck, and a ... what was the single coil you wanted me to use for the bridge filmdudE?)
