Ear Pieces
Ear Pieces
Hey guys,
Not even sure if these are made...but I think they are. You know how there are earpieces for onstag that play a metronome in your ear? Are there any that take the sound coming from your bass, and put it through an ear plug at adjustable volumes? Would be useful for large gigs.

Ah I wouldn't consider it cheating. Its just when I fill in for friends at big shows, those guys rely on me to be able to perform to the best of my ability. Its really a head ache on stage putting up with the noise and making sure I can hear each note.dmbguitar718 wrote:They actually make those? That's like cheating X 10.
As a bass player we have to be inside, not over or under...so its important to me that I can really "feel" where I'm at during the performance.
All your normal earplug does is dull out the sound so your ears don't explode, but I want something thats going to dull out some of the exterior sound, but still give me a hint of bass in my ear.
Though it may be considered cheating to some, I just don't feel comfortable training myself to overlook everything and find my bass while I'm on stage for a huge crowd.
Past larger performances I've done went well....but the earplugs were really hurting me (not physically).

And yeah, I was talking about the metronome. That'd distract that band members I'd think anyway.

actually a lot of professional bands do use metronomes in their IEMs.dmbguitar718 wrote:Those would never be loud enough.filmdude100cms wrote:not those i mean the kind that come with your ipod.praisedave wrote:those monitoring systems brock posted have budsfilmdude100cms wrote:in that situation ear buds would fall out or not supply enough sound for you to hear.
