Fender Strat Q...

Unread post by Mykoal » Thu Dec 23, 2004 9:41 pm

About to purchase my first electric guitar. And decided to spend around 400 on a fender strat. I was wondering what you guys prefer for the neck. People on the net say the maple is smoother and the rosewood is "smokier." anyone have their own opinoins. Any strat guitar you guys prefer in the 400 range.

Dont buy a strat. They are pieces of crap unless you get them custom made which isnt in your price range. If you want to go Fender get a Telecaster. They are pretty good guitars.

If your a new guitarist you wont be able to tell the difference until after you have learned and you would realize that you made a mistake in buying it. But if you already play then play them both.

I absolutely love my Strat, and I don't understand why so many people hate them. Care to enlighten me KCW?

Stevie Ray Vaugn's No. 1 strat was just a beater from a guitarstore that he loved, and he did not supe it up at all. It's one of the most famous strats out there. How could regular non tweaked strats be horrible is SRV owned several. George Harrison owned a few that he didn't tweak.

Listen, strats are good and bad. I would get a 500-600 dollar strat for quality. Cheaper strats are crap, but when you get around 600 or higher, then you got a good guitar.

I own a Les Paul, and the one and only reason why I don't have a strat is because I don't like how thin the body is. That's it, otherwise I would get one.

i applaud you for having a reason to dislike a fender and naming it unlike most people who are just like "fenders are crap dont buy one"
