Opinions on a Fishman Matrix Natural 2
I'm in the market for my 2nd pickup (I had a fisman neo-d passive soundhole pickup) and am looking to upgrade. I think the acoustic matrix natural 2 would be a good choice for my small stage/recording style (nothing big going on here).
i have an alvarez rd20s which is full body/solid wood dreadnaught without any other previous pickups installed or a EQ/Premp
what are your opinions? thanks

i believe the fishman matrix is the next best thing to that monster taylor setup. otherwise, its the best acoustic pickup out there.

how does a built in preamp work. from what i've seen all you get is the pickup, battery and the 1/4 jack. Where's the preamp?praisedave wrote:you should prolly have a preamp, it dont gotta be built in tho. the stock one is nothin specialUNCcrombie wrote:will it matter too much if i dont have an onboard premp? how's the sound with the built in one?

i think yall should look at LR Baggs... fishman isnt bad, but theres much better out there. the best system ive heard was made by LR Baggs (but its not available to the public)

the Taylor ES cant be installed in any other guitar. not that people wont, it CANT BE.
the ES system uses Taylors NT neck as a factor in the pickups. no other brand uses Taylors NT neck obviously. therefore, no other brand can use it.
