So I stopped by a Guitar Center today for the first time- i've only been playing for about 4 months and have only tried 2 guitars other than my own old Yamaha, so I didnt really have a clue what I was in for, but I tried everything I could get my hands on and now I have a really good idea of what I like-
I tried a Taylor 714ce right away, ive always wanted to play a Taylor... The thing was absolutely beautiful, as was every other Taylor I picked up, and they all had a pretty nice feel, very comfortable to play... But they just didnt feel right, I dont really know what it was- I also thought the sound was a little weak- I didnt like how much they emphasized the mid and high tones and really left out the bass...
Tried out a few Martins, those things absolutely blew me away... The first one I picked up was an HD-28V i think, it was way better than any of the taylors I played- I thought Martins sounded like I wanted a guitar to sound, they were absolutely perfect- the absolte best guitar i played all day was a Martin D-40, maybe a D-41, i couldnt remember and they look almost identical...
Also, I was very impressed with a Larivee that I played, i dont know what model but it looked very nice, not as nice as the martins or taylors, but it sounded VERY good and played very well too
just thought someone would find my opinions on those particular guitars interesting... I tried out a lot more than that but seeing how long this has become, i wont go into details, lol
Tried out a LOT of guitars today for the first time
