SHOULD I DO IT?

Unread post by chucayes » Tue Feb 25, 2003 11:29 pm

I have a yamaha fg-412s that i got at mars music and ive been playing it for about 8 months now. It was my first guitar and i want to be able to plug it in. I got my guitar at a scratch/dent sale so theres a little crack where the neck meets the body that has been worked on(looks like some wood glue) and a little crack on the neck. But heres the thing, the guitar sounds great, and im wondering if i should pay the money to get a nice pickup installed. Would it be worth it on this guitar i got for $170 or should i save a little money and buy a martin with a pickup in it for around $400. If anyone has any input that could help with this dillema, it would be appreaciated.
Thanks
Ryan

what martin, with electronics, are you going to get for $400?? even the d-15, which has no electronics in it, is still only like 500-600 on sale. it all depends on how much you would be putting in for the electronics, if you found a place that would install a pretty good cheap pickup for a low price, then i'd say go for it, but you may have a hard time finding that.
