I just grabbed an Epi Chet Atkins on Ebay for under $300.00.
My question is: should I be using acoustic or electric strings on it?? I emailed the guy I bought it from and he didn't know.(it still has the original strings on it) I'm assuming acoustic strings but I'm not sure.
If anyone out there has one or knows what is commonly used on these please fill me in. I suppose I could email Gibson and ask, but these boards have been a great source of info so I thought I'd ask here first.

hmm, i guess it all depends, if it has the original strings, then it has the original pickup... soooo, (first of all throw a fishman in

) i guess put in acoustic strings to get a closer acoustic sound, electric on a stock epiphone pickup might give you less of the acoustic sound the chet can give you.

How the hell did I double post?? Oh well. Yea there might be a Fishman in my future. But I want to see how the stock pickup sounds first. Plus I need to quit spending on guitars for awhile. The Chet was a spur of the moment buy after playing one last week.

I've got a couple packs of Elixirs left so I'll start with those. I've got a feeling I'm going to end up trying out a bunch of different brands of strings on this axe.
