does anyone have any experience/opinions on either the 500MKll or the 600T? the 600 comes with a built in tuner, is that worth it?

I was gonna get an alverez RD8E w/case for $300. Had electronics and cutaway, but not a solid top, so I chose to go with the takamine. Although it did sound really nice, I just had to go more by price for quality instead of ears, because the guitar I was used to hearing sounded sooooo shitty pretty much anything sounded good.
the letters for the most part stand for what series the guitar is. The "R" is for regent series then the letters just denote the guitars progression through the series. Does that make sense?? They also use the letters to denote if its a solid top and the color. I have the RD20S which is just a higher up than the RD8(not a whole lot better though ~250bucks no case either). The "S" stands for solid top. Guitars ending w/ SB is the code for sunburst pattern, or BK for a black guitar...ect ect.
The Fusio series that was talked about are all FD60___
Speaking of alvarez's... I seen a used one that had amber pearl tunners on it. does anyone know where I can found those????
Hope that helps somewhat http://www.alvarezgtr.com/

The Tak was $420, i believe, from http://www.music123.com including a really sweet hardcase.sjakubek wrote:i'm in the same boat, playing on a crappy guitar. it's tough to know how much to spend. how much did lay out for your takamine? by the way, do you know what the # in the alvarez model signifies?
I love my alvarez. If you decide to get one, make sure to get one with where the bridge is part of the guitar top. See the pic at the link below. This guitar produces a ton of bass. Much more than other axes its size. Mine has the 500 electronics, my friend knows a ton about recording and says there just awsome. I don't know crap about recording though. I think it sounds great amplified. Alvarez has a deal on their site if you click on buy, that will direct you to the closest store.

i finally found an alvarez dealer in my area (about 45 minutes away) and got to play one today. They are pretty sweet guitars, i was really impressed. i'm deciding between either this one http://www.alvarezgtr.com/bigguitarspgs/pd80scbig.html or this http://www.alvarezgtr.com/bigguitarspgs/ad60scbig.html
Those yairi's look awesome, but i can't justify dishing out that much cash. The store i found marks down the list 40%, seems like a pretty good deal.

Yeah they're pretty spendy. I got mine for 1200$ with the case, they wanted 1900$. The PD80SC is definitely the better guitar. However, I would play both to see which I liked better. Also try playing some other brands in your price range. I always consider my purchase in this order, price, play ability, sound. No point in playing something that sounds great but sucks to play, i.e. crappy action, large thick neck, etc...The 80 has the 600T system which has a nice built in tuner. And the Top and Back are solid, where as the 60, the sides and back are ply. The top on the 80 is nicer wood too. Good luck with the purchase
