Unread post by CPTino3001 » Sun Feb 09, 2003 7:06 pm

Unless it's being played...my guitar is always in the case...the only thing is my room gets really damn cold during the winter...down to maybe 50 or 60 at the lowest...do i need to keep it in a warmer area, and do i need to get a humidifier?

the cold can be harmful to your guitar, but only the intense cold is harmful for it. 50 or 60 degrees isn't too bad, and you're keeping it in the case at all times, so i think you're fine. a humidifier can be a great thing, however it all depends on how much you care about your guitar.

yeah, that's not too cold as long as its not too dry. It's all about the relative humidity. The colder it gets, the more moisture you need to add to the air to keep it humid enough. Here's a nice little article from the Larrivee website (I'm on a Larrivee kick today) humidy
good, and you?
