Best acoustic under $500

Unread post by ledzepp4l » Thu Jul 01, 2004 2:26 am

I'm saying Ibanez PF series.
I bought one for less than 300 and its the best guitar I've put my hands on. (that i didn't mind if it got banged up a bit)

Ive seen some really good Alvarez's for around $500. I dont know much about Ibanez's but I would think theres a lot nicer acoustics then them in the price range. But I could be wrong, if you like it it doesnt matter anyway

Alvarez, Alvarez, Alvarez. Usually run for about $500, and will last you a lifetime. A $500 Alvarez is better than a $900-1000 Martin. Seriously.

takamine and Alverez. Ive actually never played an alvarez, but it sounds too good to be stupid and not mention it. Most tekamines at the price gome with an EQ as well so its all good.

You're not going to beat Seagull in that price range. My opinion.

I owned a Seagull for many years and i hated it! They have a powerful sound but they're very hard to play.. Normans (a similar canadian brand) are much better guitars imo.

With 500$ you could go for Martin 000-15 or D-15, or a Larrivée D-02/03 or L-02/03. The Martins 15 series seem to be expensive these days.. i've seen mint ones selling for 350-400$.
