String Tension

Unread post by snapoffmode » Mon Jun 21, 2004 6:12 pm

hi everybody,

i've been playing on my teachers martin during lessons and find that the string tension on his guitar and my taylor big baby is noticeably different. both guitars are strung with 10's but for some reason the strings on his guitar seem much more flexible where as mine feel very tight. does anyone know the reason for this.....assuming the same guage strings are being used? is this adjustable somehow? or is this just characteristic of the makes of the guitars?

thanks for your help.

Your action is probably too high. if it is, you should get it set up at a local guitar store
