D'Addario Strings

Unread post by NJPearce22 » Fri Jun 18, 2004 11:23 pm

I just got a pack of D'Addario Acoustic Phosphor Bronze mediums. I'm not sure what to make of them yet. They seem too bright. I mean twangy bright! I don't like it much compared to the sound of the Martin SP strings I had on them. The Martins were very bassy...like a martin guitar opposed to a Taylor! Will this brightness eventually wear out?

agreed.

Hey Elliot, how are things? I havn't been here in ages but I decided to drop in and tell everyone that I bought a new guitar today. Seagull S6. very nice little guitar. it ain't a Taylor or a Martin but its a fuckin' nice guitar. I traded in a guitar that a guy gave me, so I got a pretty nice price. I would've gotten the S6+ CW but it got sold the day before. I was pissed because I was in then but the salesguy that was in the day before that when I first played the guitar, was not in that day so I wanted to give him the sale so I waited till today to come back in and buy it but it got sold. and they didn't have another one in stock but he brought out the S6 from the back and I played it, and then I bought it. Pretty impulsive of me, and I might trade it back in for the electric/acoustic when they get them in. anyway that's my story. oh yeah and I got a pack of EJ16's to put on it.

Peace,
Ken

The brightness will die out quickly. Give it a good 10-15 hours of playing. It's mostly from the strings just getting dirty; covered in oil, skin, and dust. Personally, I kind of like the bright sound, so I clean mine every couple of days. ^_^

things are good...busy typically, but good. I've kinda got a slow few days here which is why I'm back perse, but as soon as I start working I won't be around again most likely. Seagull's are great guitars despite what people would gather from the price...
