Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

Mech! Larrivees Schmarrivees. I don't think I've ever played a Larrivee that's blown me away. Maybe I've never gotten my hands on a good one, but can't say that I'm too fond of them. That's Canadien bias there, johntherevelator.

no offense tico, but its not like ive played a total of 3 guitars in my life
stop talking about bias when your remarks are biased since you dont know all the facts
just because i prefer a guitar doesnt mean my choice is biased because i live in the country where its made

i was messing john. sorry if it didn't come across like that. there's just been so much canadien posts/topics/etc on here lately that i thought i'd mess with yas since there seems to be a majority of you guys, or at least a very vocal minority.
still haven't played a really good larrivee though, and i've had my hands on more than 3 guitars too

Taylors are far superior
no question that Taylor's guitar is better, that is my opinion I would think dave is more a Taylor guy to you dont see him with a 12 string martin or using martin's on the majority of his tour with the band he only uses martin when playing with tim but I think that is to be more grouped with timmy who just plays martin's.....

Re: Taylors are far superior
I like the sound of a good Martin over the sound of a good Taylor. They are very different sounding guitars and it's 100% subjective in prefering one over the other. Some like the trebly ring of the Taylor while others like the bassy roar of the Martin. some like the skinny neck of the Taylor, some like a thicker beefy neck to suit they're hand size or personal preference.bigIphish41 wrote:no question that Taylor's guitar is better, that is my opinion I would think dave is more a Taylor guy to you dont see him with a 12 string martin or using martin's on the majority of his tour with the band he only uses martin when playing with tim but I think that is to be more grouped with timmy who just plays martin's.....

Re: Taylors are far superior
I don't feel that my Taylor is too Trebly or lacking bass. I feel that is has a better over all sound. I don't want my guitar to be too bassy like all the Martins that I played had.gravedigger wrote:I like the sound of a good Martin over the sound of a good Taylor. But you are right...it doesn't mean anything to which you prefer. I don't judge anyone's tastes in guitars (unless you like Larivees - then you are just nuts
