First Electric?

Unread post by NJPearce22 » Tue Jun 08, 2004 2:18 pm

So I've been looking at electrics lately and I've been drawn in by this Fender Standard Fat Strat! It's like a really good, versitile sounding guitar for the price ($399). It's got 2 single coil pick-ups in the neck and middle, but the cool thing is the humbucker in the bridge! There are so many sound possibilities! I'm looking to buy it or something else better within that price range (nothing over $500) once i start working. I already got the parents to agree on getting me an amp (probably a Marshall) for my birthday if I buy the guitar myself!

What do you guys think of Fat Strat's? Is there any other guitars that I should consider?

i would recommend something from Godin like a LG or an SD from the lower series. isaac got his SDxt for about $400 and its better than any fender could ever want to be ;)

i have an LGX, but not only is it discontinued, its out of your price range.

Yea...but I kinda dig the Fender sound after listening to Mayer! I like the silky blusey stuff you can get fronm the neck pickups. I think Les Pauls are overrated. If you wanna play rock they are good, but I think Fenders sound better for a variety of music. That's why I have my sights set on one!

I just got the 50th anniversary Fender strat a few weeks ago. I love it. I have a Les Paul and it just wasn't cutting it for me, so I went and got the Fender. I can not put it down, even more so that I feel my Acoustic guitars are feeling neglected. I say go for the Fender.

Then you'd know that "Pantala naga pampa" does not mean "welcome to our home" in any language. Someone made that up and said it was a translation in the "Gambian" language... which is not a language.
