Unread post by snoopdoug1 » Sat Feb 01, 2003 9:03 am

I just want to know if I have everything to get started... about to order this from musiciansfriend.com.

1) Washburn D10S guitar
2) Gig Bag
3) Guitar stand(since I will also use it for decoration! :)
4) Either Dunlop nylon picks(.99 cents), or dunlop gel picks(3.99) suggestions?
5) Planet Wave body humidifier
6) Qwik tune 11(cause it's my only hope of tuning it :)

I guess that's it, am I missing something that a beginner would need? I wanna get extra strings too, I've request help from the "Best Strings" thread, but if you wanna give me some suggestions in here too, that'd be great!

Thanks guys! You've been a great help!

I'm not sure I would get strings yet, the ones that are on it will certainly last you for a while... want a capo or a slide?

Thanks for the answer! Uhh, I know what a capo is, is it used a lot? Is it worth me buying one? And what is a slide, and what is it used for?

a slide is for sliding

timmy uses them alot
watch the storytellers video to see

its a little tube (glass, metal, etc.) that you put on one of your fingers to slide between notes very easily in solos and the like

A capo is handy, and a slide is interesting when used right...the trick with a slide, is, well...using it right...hard to use it withought it sounding nasty at first...i would suggest a regular capo, and no slide unless you find a few extra buck in your pocket when you do the loundry

by the way, I have to share this funny picture with somebody!
Maybe i should use it as my avatar icon

Quick Question

Unread post by BPearce212 » Mon Feb 03, 2003 5:42 pm

I am also looking at this very guitar seeing that I am a beginner as well. How did you get the guitar for $150, when it says that they are selling it for $210 dollars on the website?

I did a pricematch to music123.com who had the guitar for 149.99... However, I did notice that the music123.com's price was for a scratch and dent model, but musiciansfriend did the deal anyways. Hope this helps. So I got the guitar @ 150 bucks ;)
