new pickup

Unread post by nugsta25 » Tue May 11, 2004 5:47 pm

i want to buy a new pick up(acoustic). I want to try and look on ebay for a good deal but I have no idea what I'm looking for. Do I need a preamp and an eq?? or what?? Could someone just describe to me a good set up. I'm talking for an expensive guitar. I know fishman is the best, but what do I need for a complete set up? Thanks guys and gals. :D

thanks shane. So if I bought the Natural II, would I need to buy a blender or pre amp? or is that optional? I kind of have a problem with cutting into the side of my guitar.

no. just leave the blender off. let someone else do the sound/tone control, or just set it how you want it before/between songs. I wouldn't cut on any guitar without utmost necessity.

Yep that's all you need.
Just a warning, the natural II is good but can be quite bright. Dave uses it in his Taylors so that he can cut through the whole band.
So if you're looking for a nice warm sound, I might look around a bit more.

I did get a Fishman Neo-D soundhole pickup. It's only about 70 bucks, and it's got actualy a pretty good sound. For the price, it's great. It's not as good as the more expensive ones, but it's great for the price. Check it out.
Yes, I am in a box

I'd give the Fishman Gold PlusNatural II Pickup a try.
