i just called a local guitar shop that carries both Traynor and Marshall amps. not only was the guy really cool to answer any questions i had about the Traynors, but he also recommended the cheaper Traynor amps over the Marshall amps. he gave an honest opinion that he thought the Traynors were better... good people in that shop hehe.

really, really, really good price for the YCV80 too.... just about the same price as the YCV40T's ive been lookin at... and the YCV80 has capabilities i wanted that the 40T doesnt have....

just thought id share my happiness. going amp shopping sometime this week.

I think musician's friend has sound samples of traynor amps on their website. Might be worth checking out if you just trying to get general idea.
