what is the best way to polish a cedar top. i've heard some people talk about lemon oil, or something like that..

Depends on what type of finish it has mainly..if it's gloss top, just regular guitar polish is fine.. i'm not sure, but lemon juice may have too much acidity for a guitar top and could be harmful

Order some silicone free guitar polish from StewMac (
http://www.stewmac.com). It's good stuff. A lot of regular guitar polishes contain silicone which can be a big problem after years of use. Use a little dab of that stuff and some elbow grease every once in awhile and the guitar should look great.
