Ok, question to someone who knows about BUYING guitars.

Want to ask about strings, maintenance, amps, mics, or comparisons of different guitars or any music equipment? This is for all threads related to music equipment.

If I found a guitar I want for $499, how much should I offer for it?

Jay Turser, he makes great sounding/playing electric guitars for a steady price.

Not all of us spend our entire savings on a guitar. If you'd like to wheel and deal, and not pay the whole wad, just find out what the standard retail discount is- that's usually what they're discounting down to anyways.

It depends on who you're buying from and what you're buying.

Basically, how bad does the seller want to move the guitar? If its new, but has been hanging on the wall forever and shows signs of shop wear, you could just about get away with offering "used" value. If it just came in yesterday, plan on paying full retail.
