Choice 1) Start gettin some pedals, theyll be fun to mess around with while ya wait

Choice 2) Get a tube amp, itll cost more at once, but itll just sound so much better.

Im guessing you are talking about your electric, not your acoustic, right?
I suggest an amp, It dosnt have to be a tube amp, just a nice sounding amp(there are actually some really good sounding solid state amps out there). If you are going to get pedals, I suggest a tremelo pedal, because that is an awesome effect-

i already have a nice sounding amp (Marshall MG15CDR). its a solid state, and its definately louder than i thought it was heh (filled up a church sanctuary with it hehe). id like a tube.

edit: by the way, what exactly does a tremolo effect do>

tremelo effect, unless i'm mistaken, gives it a slight reverb to make it sound like the note has tremelo on it

i think it it pans it left to right(or mabey on and off...?).
the only example I can think of right now is the opening song from "kill bill: volume 1". I dont know if you remember that song, but the guitar has a really nice tremelo on it-

Naw, i'm pretty sure that panning is done with a digital delay pedal, not tremelo

It's a volume tremolo.. usually you can control the shape, rate, and depth.. the first song I can think of off the top my head that it is blatantly used is Audioslave "Like A Stone"

i would go for the pedals first. whats an awesome amp gonna do if you don't have any awesome effects for it? 8)

using a pedal board takes a lot of practice while using an amp doesn't. so if you already have a pretty good amp i would definatly go with the pedals so you'll already be good with them by the time you can get a tube amp.

Get a PODxt. Then you get some sweet amp models, and some awesoem effects. If you already have an amp (Marshall?), then you can plug the POD into your amp through the effects loop and just use it for effects, or you can use it to model other amps. Or you can just jam along with headphones in the middle of the night when you've got the urge to play and don't want to piss anyone off!

Id say the amp first. I have an ass load of pedals, but I dont use them all that often.

I bidded on a Boss DD-5 but lost it. anyway, ive decided on:

Boss DD-5
Boss BD-2
Maybe a Boss SuperChorus
Some Vox Wah
A Boss pedal tuner maybe?
A Boss EQ maybe

Probably a marshall tube amp. maybe 30-50 watts? that can play over a drum set.
