Acoustic Compressor Pedal

It would certainly be useful to have a good compressor pedal BUT unfortunately the Boss CS3 Compressor pedal was pretty much crap

Does anyone know what the best compressor pedal would be for an acoustic guitar? I was looking into the Marshal ED1 but I'm not sure if it will do what I need. I want it mainly for when I start strumming harder so I don't drown out my vocals. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Since you will probably always have it on(since you are using to help your sound and control it, not as an effect...right?) you might want a rack unit compressor for your guitar. You could also prolly use it for your voice then(it helps out vocals quite a bit as well). Heres a couple:

I read your other post and like juineaux said you probably want a rack mounted unit if your not using it as an effect. I'm familiar with compression and it is viatal to getting a good sound particularly on vocals. Like I said before the RNC compressors are the best for the money. Yeah it would be something I leave on the entire show, and it's not for effects, it's just to level out when it's too loud or not loud enough (mostly when it's too loud cause I don't want my vocals drowned out!)

Would that be simple enough to use on gigs? If I could simply connect my Ibanez Chorus Pedal through the compressor and then into the PA system (amp at home) that would be pretty damn sweet

I have a little preamp for my mic btw, if I can hook up my mic and guitar to the compressor would I be able to control the volume/drive for the mic through the compressor?

yea you should be able to control the volume of the mic as well, It wouldnt be the same as a mixer though.

I found that Presonus/BlueMax for $120. Do you think that would serve me well for live shows, or should I just get a little MXR Pedal compressor?
