DM3MDs go for 6k on ebay. I blame Martin for not allowing a decent amount of these guitars on the market. They could've made 5000 and still had a highly collectible limited guitar.

So it's time for another DM3MD: They did it for Clapton, Petty, and a million other artists, why can't we see another Dave edition?

6k is just too fucking much. If I had it laying around I would buy a motorcycle or take the woman for two weeks in Hawaii. No guitar is worth 6k. None. Unless Dave played it on stage and it has his blood on it, it's not worth it. Not for a production guitar.

[The "Chris" is in reference to the man who puts the "C" in "C.F. Martin Guitar Company"

How many did the make?

And if they make more, will it drop the price that much? I mean did it cut the price when they did it for Clapton? I would love to get my hands on one of these to.

I wonder how they came up with that number, you'd think that they'd shoot for a nice round number, but they only went for 234? odd

Wooah only 234? That's stupid cause I want one. I imagine that if they don't make anymore...by the time I get enough money to buy one at, we'll say $6,000, there gonna be like $20,000.

I love my DM3MD, but due to the sky-high price tag it runs for now, I only end up playing it about once a month. Otherwise it's in its hardshell with its own humidifier for safe keeping.

I think the original retail price was $2,800. Not sure though because I bought mine used.

The thing is Martin didn't make the one million plus, they made less than half of that because the price rose so much due to their scarcity. Martin could make a ton reissuing the guitar, or asking Dave to make another one.

So why not?
