d16rte vs d28
d16rte vs d28
anyone have an opinion as to the difference between the martin d16rte and the d28?
they're both east indian rosewood with sitka spruce top, but $1000 difference in price.
anyone played both? how do they compare?
thanks.

since no one would answer this one i went to my local martin shop and asked them.
the d16rgt uses a mass produced neck joint
the hd28 neck joints are hand carved in a v shape that allows for more wood to wood contact and thus making a better tone
the d16rgt has gloss only on top
the hd28 has gloss on the back and sides which is hand applied and buffed, which adds about 400 dollars
the hd28 also has a herringbone inlay as well as a better tuning system
hope that helps
