You didn't give him advice. You put yourself up on a high horse and shoved it in his face. It's the wrong way to do it. I am surprised you have any guitars left. Leave it to the professionals. Stop running your mouth.CBalvarez wrote:HA! Yea I sure put myself on high horse, I apologize for coming off that way if I did, I thought I could help him, and my guitars are in perfect shape, so why would I think its bad advice? And the bottle over his head comment was just supposed to be a joke because of his Avatar!!!CBalvarez wrote:Don't pay, you can change the action yourself, inside the soundhole at the bottom of the neck there should be an allen wrench screw that you can turn and lower or raise the action, I would try that first, somtimes the bridge has screws on each side as well that you can turn and adjust the action...checkii wrote:so, i need new strings and want to get these, but my guitar is also kind of ass lately.
I was thinking about buying a better saddle and getting it tuned up. The action seems like it's been getting higher slowly over time, how much you think it would be to get a new saddle and a tune up?
And yea elixrs are the shit, but lately I've been using the DDarrio EXPs coated phosphor strings, which I'm am diggin thouroughly, and they are like 5 bucks cheaper too. I haven't tried the phosphor elixrs yet...And I always use light or extra light, gives me a faster, more electric style playability...why would anyone ever use uncoated strings!?!?!

Your responses after that are what gave you your boosted ego appeal, not the original. Stop fighting about it. He said he didn't want to so stop telling him it's the way to go. You got lucky and your neck isn't at exact specifications for your guages, I guarantee it.

that works.
if i wasnt so lazy I could of explained better.
but seriously read a lot of the posts about fixing your set up. I used to think the truss rod was the answer, i never fucked with it, but i thogutht that was the way to adjust it.
some of the guys here have compiled great posts on what to do to improve your set up.
later all. im, off work, thank god.
