My baby...
Here's the link:
http://www.sagamusic.com/catalog/products.asp?BrandID=5
My main guitar is the Blueidge BR-160, solid sitka spruce top, solid rosewood back and sides, MOP on the peghead and abalone on the finerboard.
My main reason was price...the features of a Martin, without the tag.
Plus, it sounds real pretty...has a great differentiation and clarity in all ranges.
It should open up nicely in the years to come.
Other than that I've been playing a beat-up 60's Framus and a 12 string Takamine EF400S, but I've put the 12 on consigment, and lent the Framus to the Old Man. Gotta break-in that BR, you know.
A nice guitar for the price ($450 with case) and not anywhere near as scary as I imagined a Chinese made guitar might be. Worth a look if Marin's out of your range...blows any current model Gretsch, Washburn or Gibson right out of the water. And I'm not lyin'!

I know, it sounded mighty fishy to me too, until I got it....the rosewood isunbelievable...the inside of the guitar is plain, so you can see every detail of the figuring in the back and sides. It's commpletey solid wood, with delicate scallops on the bracing.firedancer86 wrote:thats pretty crazy man!

The top is unlike any other I've played - right out of the box, the motion was incredible. You could feel it all the way up the neck!
And yeah, the dalmation pickguard was a little much...so I replaced it with
one made of green abalone to match the peg head! It looks really weird, but strangley, like it belongs and has been there since the '30's.
If I can figure this out, I'll try to post a shot of it.

^^^ i'm new to guitar, so i decided to get something fairly nice without spending a ridiculous amount of money, so i got a Taylor Big Baby. i'm sure you've heard the story: feels good, inexpensive but sounds like a bigger taylor, great to play -- it's all true. too bad it's not solid wood all around, but then again, i didn't pay big money for it, somewhere around $300. i've played on one or two beginner's guitars and they didn't feel anything like this. it just feels like a quality instrument. it does what it's supposed to do, play like an ever-so-slightly smaller taylor.

I curretnyl own a Martin D1 and i sold my old piece of shit no name beginner guitar about 7 months ago to a friend that wanted to start playing for 30 bucks and played it for about a week and gave up. The D1 has a deep bassier sound because of the mahogany back and sides. All in all its an exceptional guitar for the price. It's eye candy to your friends that dont know anything too. It's a beautiful guitar with a beautiful sound and I would recommend it to anyone that is just starting out or intermediate player.
No offense to him but I'm glad hge did another week of listening to that awful thing screeching as loud as it could because he was horrible at playing and my ears would seriously start bleeding. I also own a Gibson Les Paul '67 reissue gold top with those classic humbuckers.
I'm currently in the process of looking for a DM3MD I saw one earlier today but befpre I could make up my mind (which I said yes too) It was snatched before my eyes in literally a matter of an hour. I should of bought it as soon as i saw it. So I'm gonna keep an eye on ebay and find a good one. Hopefully I'm aiming for #41, #36, #40, #34 that would be fuckin awesome, but berggers cant be choosers.

310
I got my hands on a 310 from a cool DMBtabs.com member, ElGuitarrista. Since I'm sure this guitar has been discussed before, in this thread or another, I'll just sum it up... I bought this guitar about a week ago used, even though it was made in Dec of 02, for $650. Its in great shape and it just rocks.

that's my guitar. Its not horrible, and i got it pretty cheap. An Ovation Celebrity. I got that, strings, hardshell case, pics, strap, stand etc. for 300 bucks cause my family is good at haggling.
I'm gonna be using this for a while. I know i am. Its pretty damn durable.[/img]

Ibanez AW100CENT
from the website:
Cutaway Dreadnought Body
Gold Grover Tuning Machines
Solid Engelmann Spruce Top
Mahogany Back & Sides
Fishman Sonicore¨ Pickup
Ibanez AEQ-SS Shape Shifter EQ
Original price was 600 something but I got it for 520 I think.
I lowered my action a little, changed my bridge, a few more details. I really love my guitar a lot. The only thing I could ask for is a little more definition in the bass tones. I have gigged with it [it's my main guitar] and it always holds up. Clear sound, full.
At home I run it through a Labseries L5 amp which is probably supposed to be used for electrics but after some thought I managed to make it sound great. The guitar sounds great accoustically and ever nicer amped which is great for playing out.
I use quite a lot of effects, no problems with that.
In all honesty, my dream guitar is a Taylor 614ce [not the 7 or 9 series, don;'t like them] but if you compare prices 600 vs 4,500 and then compare sound quality this is an amazing buy. Of course guitar players or just people with an excellent ear will notice there are small differences [not that big really] but 'normal' people won't hear the difference so much if at all. Fellow guitar players come up to me often asking me for the type becuase they like the sound.
I also have a 1980's Gibson Firebrand electric and an Aria Spanish guitar but I don't play them very often unfortunately. I'm way too monogamous guitar wise. :p [and girl wise too of course hehe].[/img]

it has rosewood binding, cocobolo backstripe/headstock overlay, snowflake inlays, and ES
quite a deal for $2250 if you ask me!

Sigma Martin DR-28
Gorgeous guitar, I found it in my friends attic so it was free, the used ones go for about $550 now. Nice tone, Solid spruce top, and Rosewood sides and back. Sounds gorgeous and I love it, I play it everyday. Not the best hing in the world but definitely a nice guitar for a beginner.
I'll be buying an Alvarez AD60CK and a Gibson Les Paul Studio Plus soon so I'll be sure to wrtie reviews when I get them

mdm, may I say EXCELLENT purchase. I've played one of those and they are absolutely FANTASTIC. I don't know why the regular 614's are all the rage: they suck. They're ok plugged in, but with or without amplification, they're far too thin and brittle. The Special Edition solves all those problems: they must have used MUCH nicer woods. It's a bright guitar, but not in a "AHHH! GET THAT HORRIBLE RINGING OUT OF MY EARS!!!" kind of way, but rather a piercing, yet gentle way, with rich highs, not sharp ones. Sounds so much better than the regular 614. Good stuff.

Review:
Being the first guitar that I have owned, I think that it awesome. It is retailed @ about 949.00 and I got it for about 650.00. I have had many people who are more experiecned with than myself, say that it is the one of the nicest sounding guitars. It has a great balance between the treble and bass, and it sounds even better when you plug it in. I really like to jam out on some blues and just have fun with it.
