I know, it's a soft market for high end guitars right now. Great time to buy. If I hold it for a year or two I'm sure I could get another thousand for it. I sold my 810BCE last month too. It had a AAA Brazilian back & sides. I also sold my 2002 814 LTD. I missed that Grand Auditorium so much that I bought a 2000 314K at a really good price. It has the same celtic Taylor logo on the back as the 810B. That means it's a year 2000 limited edition "Legends of the Fall" guitar. It has a 3 piece Koa back. I'm partial to the 3 piece back you know DM3MD. Why I'm I selling them? A new Taylor W65 with grafted walnut and either a celtic or cindy inlay on the fretboard. I haven't decided yet. I want to order one of those before Taylor runs out of grafted walnut.

you can never go wrong with cindy, however i cant believe youre selling braz for walnut... doesnt seem fair...

Hmm...I just play a guitar and marvel at the sound. Rather than trying to figure out why it sounds good, I just let it sound good. :)

So what are the ranks of woods for guitars? Just curious.

Oh, and btw, is this the W65 you are talking about? Isn't that what Dave plays? I got the pic of the '98 one, because I think thats the year he has.

wood is a lot of preference, although brazillian rosewood is considered top of the line. cocobolo looks like it (maybe even better in my opinion) and the sound can be close to it. theres too many woods to count. just stay away from maple. :)

So Ricky, is that the one you are getting? What about a 6-string? Getting another one of those? What are your picks/preferences?
