I DO make decisions for myself, she didn't force me to change my screen name, no more than I'd force her to do anything.jrbleiguy wrote:4 year relationship or not.. no man should have to go through with that. Don't pay, you can change the action yourself, inside the soundhole at the bottom of the neck there should be an allen wrench screw that you can turn and lower or raise the action, I would try that first, somtimes the bridge has screws on each side as well that you can turn and adjust the action...checkii wrote:so, i need new strings and want to get these, but my guitar is also kind of ass lately.
I was thinking about buying a better saddle and getting it tuned up. The action seems like it's been getting higher slowly over time, how much you think it would be to get a new saddle and a tune up?
And yea elixrs are the shit, but lately I've been using the DDarrio EXPs coated phosphor strings, which I'm am diggin thouroughly, and they are like 5 bucks cheaper too. I haven't tried the phosphor elixrs yet...And I always use light or extra light, gives me a faster, more electric style playability...why would anyone ever use uncoated strings!?!?!
Hmm sounds like I need to check these phosphor bronze strings out....... but I still have 4 more packs of reg nanowebs to go

um, first one is not how to correctly fix your action, and no screws on mty bridge. I cant imagine a bridge that can move up and down sounding like anythign but crap.CBalvarez wrote:Don't pay, you can change the action yourself, inside the soundhole at the bottom of the neck there should be an allen wrench screw that you can turn and lower or raise the action, I would try that first, somtimes the bridge has screws on each side as well that you can turn and adjust the action...checkii wrote:so, i need new strings and want to get these, but my guitar is also kind of ass lately.

Interesting, cuz that seems to be how Ive lowered the action on a couple different guitars now (allen wrench)...they were lower end models tho so that could be part of it...I know ive never seen the screws on higher end acoustics and yea that prolly makes em sound like shit. You can also very carefully file the bottom part of your saddle, but feel free to go pay 50 bucks for somthing that can so easily be fixed for free, on a shitty guitar especially...maybe quit breaking bottles over your head!checkii wrote:um, first one is not how to correctly fix your action, and no screws on mty bridge. Check, take it to a shop, seriously. Adjusting the truss rod can crack your neck and ruin everything. Take it to a luthier and tell him what you want done and what guage strings you want on afterwards and they will set it up. For me it's free right now with where I bought my guitar. I'd imagine depending on where you take it it could run from $75-$150. I dunno though, but take it in.

everyone here, every professional, and every manufacturer is saying that using the truss rod to adjust your action is the wrong way and is dangerous.CBalvarez wrote:Si!checkii wrote:or maybe do some research.CBalvarez wrote:Interesting, cuz that seems to be how Ive lowered the action on a couple different guitars now (allen wrench)...they were lower end models tho so that could be part of it...I know ive never seen the screws on higher end acoustics and yea that prolly makes em sound like shit. All I know is you asked a question, I answered it the only way I know how, I don't think I know everything, just what I have done to fix that problem, naturally I wouldn't have told you somthing that I thought would ruin your guitar...and I called you an asshole because, you are an asshole...maybe you shouldn't ask questions if you don't like the answers
once again asshole I apologize for trying to help you and save some money

cool guy, you dont need to PM me the exact same thing you posted in here. If you would have read the post it was a month and a half ago and an experienced member gave me a sufficient answer.
and if by saving me money you mean helping me fuck up my guitar i appreciate it.
so please dont waste your time PMing me, your time is better spent creating new and more creative insults. "asshole" 4 times in one thread is just kind of sad.
